The New Parent Trail - Wellness Walks in the Wild

Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be a beautiful journey, but they can also come with their fair share of challenges and emotions.

For a while now I have wanted to offer new and expecting parents a space that would support both their mental and emotional well being. As an experienced doula and yoga teacher specializing in trauma and grief support, I understand the importance of mental health and building a supportive community during this time.

That's why I'm thrilled to introduce a new initiative; The New Parent Trail - Wellness Walks in the Wild. This offering will blend the healing power of nature with somatic exercises, grounding practices, fresh air, and the physical healing of walking and at times possibly some simple outdoor yoga to create a holistic support system for pregnant individuals and new parents.

Nature has a unique ability to soothe our souls, clear our minds, and ground us in the present moment. That's why I've chosen the serene beauty of natural trails as the backdrop for our wellness walks. Whether you prefer strollers or baby carriers, there's a trail suitable for you, and each one offers a different connection with nature.

These wellness walks are designed to be inclusive and nurturing experiences. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect during our walks (please note not all will be included in every walk, it may just be one thing per walk):

  1. Somatic Exercises: Gentle movements and exercises to connect with your body and release tension.

  2. Grounding Practices: Techniques to anchor yourself in the present moment and find inner peace.

  3. Meditations: Guided mindfulness sessions to calm your mind and reduce stress.

  4. Forest Yoga: Yoga poses amidst the trees, allowing you to stretch, strengthen, and find balance.

  5. Community Connection: Walk and chat with your fellow participants, discussing conversation starters provided to foster meaningful connections.

Each walk will revolve around a different theme or topic relevant to pregnancy and postpartum experiences. From self-care to embracing change, we will explore various aspects of this journey together.

If you are as excited as I am, here's how you can get involved:

  1. Join the nature walks to nurture your mental health and build a supportive community.

  2. Follow me on social media for updates, tips, and inspiration.

  3. Share within our community.

Nature has a way of healing and rejuvenating our spirits, and when combined with holistic wellness practices, it can be a powerful source of support during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I invite you to join me on these nurturing walks, where you can find solace in nature, connect with your body, and build a community of support. Together, we'll embrace the transformative journey of pregnancy and parenthood.
